WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT AWT CULTURAL TOURS?

With our cultural excursions AWT is using tourism for the cultural enrichment of travelers and locals. By sharing time and social activities we aim to develop understanding across world cultures. Our cultural exchanges are committed to increasing the local's self-esteem and pride in their cultural identity. We will offer travelers the opportunity to discover more about local people and culture, while helping in the process of spiritual transformation.

HOW CAN TRAVELERS HELP?

  1. Simply by being understanding of the locals' reality, by sharing your time, or any artistic skill you are already bringing a lot of help. Children enjoy games, listening to music, singing and share laughing. You can also bring education to their doors! Bring a book or an educational toy and you will make somebody's day!
  2. Advanced educational activities for volunteer groups
    1. Building library rooms in the communities. These rooms are simple structures that will be built in coordination with the local families of the community. This activity is offered to groups of students or volunteers who expect to stay a minimum of 7 days or more in one community. The goal of building libraries is to provide to the local community the capacity to receive educational material donations.
    2. If we find that a school or church is well organized in a village, we will distribute encyclopedias and educational books to be used by children, youngsters and adults.

PAYMENTS AND RECEIPTS

AWT is committed to comply with the Peruvian tax obligations. Our fares include all taxes and we provide to our clients an official receipt for their purchases and tours. The official receipt in Peru is called Boleta de Venta or Factura. These are the only documents that demonstrate that a company is legally registered and complying with its tax duties. At the same time, it is the only official document that clients can use in case they have a complaint about the quality of service. Please, always request a Boleta de Venta when you buy a service.

ABOUT VOUCHERS

A Voucher is provided only in case of a hotel reservation that is made in other cities or when purchasing bus, train, or flight tickets. We provide a voucher and we exchange it against the real tickets (bus,train or flight tickets) once we have paid to these companies. Please, be aware that you have to come back to our office and exchange the voucher against the official ticket.
